Travelling as a means of education

Travelling is anessential part of the extracurricular activities of a number of Colleges andPublic Schools. These are educational tours. Students belonging to the facultyof Commerce or those who have offered Economics would like to travel even tomines to acquire firsthand knowledge of minerals, coal and other ores. Thusthey add practical knowledge to what they study in theory. Travelling is theonly way to know about historical places and monuments. An archaeologist has tomove from place to place to acquire knowledge about the historical buildings.He educates himself through traveling. Travelling in trains and buses we comein contact with people of different areas. If we travel on feet we are veryclose to nature and to the people who live around the nature in the rural areasor those who dwell in valleys in the hilly tracts. It was a part of theirpragmatic life to educate themselves through traveling. They learnt a number ofthings and used them in the development of the country.
